The Shh is the name of one of the latest arrivals on the Maltese music scene, and to mark the occasion they’ve just released their debut EP, The Burning Love.

And while you’re busy trying to get your tongue around the best way to pronounce the band’s name – The Shush being one of the more common choices, apparently – it’s also worth mentioning that this is the latest project from Alison and Ian, better known as two-thirds of Maltese indie act Beangrowers.

Originating, in a rather low-key, lo-fi kind of way, from a place between the city of lights and Malta, The Shh’s music is melodic and infectious, evoking surf-rock sounds with warm ‘summer of love’ vocal hooks.

Visit The Shh’s Facebook page to listen to So Over, the first track on he Burning Love EP, or better still, catch them live at V-Gen on May 4, where they will playing alongside Clandestines, Skimmed and UK duo Joe Gideon and The Shark.
