BONNICI. On April 18, SALVINA, widow of Francis, aged 88, from Burmarrad, passed peacefully away at Karen Grech Hospital, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her sad loss her children Vincent, Mary, Doris, Jane, Esther, Joe, Lina, David, and Godfrey, their respective spouses, her grandchildren, her great-grandchildren, her brother Angelo and her sisters Marie, Pawla, and Vicky widow of her brother Joe, her in-laws Doris and Louis and their respective families, nephews and nieces other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Karen Grech Hospital today at 3.30 p.m. for Qalb Bla Tebgħa ta’ Marija parish church, Burmarrad where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 4.15 p.m. followed by interment in the family’s grave at Ħniena Divina Cemetery, St Paul’s Bay. No flowers by request but donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siggiewi will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

BORG OLIVIER – On April 19, PETER, son of the late Giorgio and Alexandra Borg Olivier, passed peacefully away at Mater Dei Hospital. He leaves to mourn his sudden and irreparable loss his beloved son Stefano and his mother Ursula, Alexander and his wife Kathleen, Jean Claude, his nephews George Simonds and Nikolai, his niece Karina, all other members of the Borg Olivier family, other relatives and his many friends in Malta and abroad. The funeral cortege leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 1.30 p.m. for the Carmelite parish church, Balluta Bay, St Julians, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 2 p.m. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

BUTTIGIEG. On April 19, at St James Capua Hospital, Sliema, LINO, aged 60, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his irreparable loss his beloved wife Theresa, née Sladden, his children Alexia and Andre’, his sisters Judy and husband Giovanni Lo Presti, and Ben and husband Mario Discenza, and sister-in-law Maudy Sladden as well as nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. The funeral leaves St James Capua Hospital tomorrow at 8 a.m. for Balluta parish church where Mass præsente cadavere will be celebrated at 8.30 a.m., followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Donations to Puttinu Cares Foundation will be greatly appreciated. The family regret they are unable to receive visitors. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

REFALO. On April 18, at Gozo General Hospital, ROSARIA of Xagħra, aged 86, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Reno who lived with her, Peter and his wife Grace, Lela, widow of Joe of Australia, Charlie and his wife Mary of Australia, Toni and his wife Mananni, Ġużeppa and her husband George, Carmen and her husband Michael, Victor (Żebbuġ local council and Marsalforn committee member) and his wife Tereża, Maria and her husband Joe of Australia, Rita and her partner John, Karistu and his wife Rose, Pawlu and his wife Marianne, Teddy and his wife Vivienne, her sister-in-law Ġanna, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, 38 nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Gozo General Hospital today at 4.30 p.m. for the Maria Bambina Basilica Sanctuary of Xagħra, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 5 p.m., followed by inter-ment in the family grave at Xagħra cemetery. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

Fishing for charity

The Gozo Puttinu Cares committee will be holding a fishing competition in aid of Puttinu Cares at the Valletta Waterfront on tomorrow between 4 and 10 p.m. Those wishing to participate can contact coordinator Julio Azzopardi on 9949 3351 or via puttinucaresgozo@hotmail.com. More than €900 were collected at last year’s event.

SPCA Spring fair on Sunday

The SPCA spring fair will be held at Palazzo Parisio in Naxxar on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. There will be home-made cakes, face painting, children’s games, various stalls and a chance to get acquainted with unusual animals. An entrance donation of €5 will be charged per adult.

Open day

Saint Elias College, run by the Carmelite friars, will be open for the public on Sunday between 3.30 and 6.30 p.m.
