Peter Borg Olivier, son of the former Nationalist prime minister, died yesterday from a stroke at Mater Dei Hospital, aged 62.

Mr Borg Olivier was rushed to the hospital in a critical condition on Sunday.

The son of Ġorġ Borg Olivier, he was a senior executive at Dragonara Casino and retired last year.

Nationalist MP Francis Zammit Dimech described Mr Borg Olivier as “a fine gentleman and a man of incredible charm and charisma”.

The funeral will take place tomorrow at 2 p.m. at the Carmelite Church in Balluta.

The Nationalist Party expressed their condolences with the Borg Olivier family.

The sudden death cut short the life of a person who had contributed to the Nationalist Party and the country over the years, the party said.
