• A blood donation session will be held at the Gozo General Hospital today between 8.30 a.m. and 1 p.m.

• Real Steel will be screened at the Don Bosco Oratory, Victoria, today at 6 p.m.

• Masses at Ta’ Pinu Sanctuary will be said today at 6.15 a.m., 8.30 a.m., 10 a.m., 11.15 a.m. and at 5 p.m.

• An art and antiques exhibition is open today at 18, Republic Street, Victoria, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Proceeds from the sale of antiques are in aid of various projects currently underway at Ta’ Pinu National Shrine.

• Art 4 You is holding an exhibition of fine art paintings, original prints and photos at the Banca Giuratale, Independence Square, Victoria. The exhibition, curated by Judy Hines, will remian open until May 1. Opening hours: Monday to Friday from 7.30 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to noon.

• The traditional fair known as Tal-Għadira ta’ San Raflu will be held in Kerċem today from noon.

• The Bethel Charismatic Group will be holding a prayer meeting at the church of Our Lady of Pompeii, Victoria, on Saturday at 7 p.m.

• A concert of Sacred Music featuring a quartet from the Papal Choir ‘Cappella Sistina’ (director Mgr Massimo Palombella) and the Laudate Pueri Choir (director Fr George Frendo) will be held at St George’s Basilica, Victoria, on Saturday at 8 p.m. Entrance is free.

• The diocesan Eucharistic Movement will be holding a prayer evening at Kerċem parish church on Saturday at 8.30 p.m., followed by Mass at midnight.

• The British Residents Association, in conjunction with the Gozo Ministry’s Culture Department, will be holding an exhibition, entitled Celebration, at the Cittadella in Victoria. The exhibition will open today until the end of June.

• Gaulitana – A Festival of Music will continue today with a vocal recital, entitled Lovewhispers from Mozart to Lehar at the Gozo Ministry in Victoria at 7.30 p.m. German soprano Katharina Kagel will present a versatile repertoire varying from operatic arias to operetta as well as semi-classical and Neapolitan numbers. Gozitan pianist Stephen Attard will be in attendance.

• The Legion of Mary in Gozo will be holding the 43rd edition of the Marian Song Festival on May 12 at the Don Bosco Oratory, Victoria. The festival is open to Gozitan singers aged 10 and over and choirs. Applications and further details are available from the Legion of Mary headquarters, St Augustine Square, Victoria, on Tuesdays between 5.30 and 6.30 p.m.

• Next month’s Gozo Football Marathon is being organised by the Puttinu Cares Gozo Committee. The event will be held at the Gozo Stadium in Xewkija on May 5 and 6 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Those wishing to take part can book there pitch now.

It is free, however participants are encouraged to leave a donation. The funds collected from this activity will go towards helping the Puttinu Sutton Project in London.
