Two months after declaring the hospital a smoke-free zone, the administration of Mater Dei Hospital thanked the public for collaborating in the initiative, which is part of the national cancer plan.
Since February 20, smoking has been completely prohibited at Mater Dei with the exception of three designated areas.
The administration said another programme to help hospital employees give up smoking was faring particularly well as a result of the initiative.
