Language howlers

On April 4, we had yet another howler in the Maltese language on the national station. During the news, the word “eyesore” was stupidly translated as ksur il-għajn. I don’t know where the person responsible got this from, certainly not from Ġużè...

On April 4, we had yet another howler in the Maltese language on the national station. During the news, the word “eyesore” was stupidly translated as ksur il-għajn.

I don’t know where the person responsible got this from, certainly not from Ġużè Aquilina’s dictionary. Ksir il-għajn has a completely different meaning.

I suggest we make use of people who really know how to translate and write the Maltese language.
