Rocs offers extreme travel packages
Nepal, South America and Africa trips planned with the help of Everest-climbing doctor
Rocs Travel has teamed up with mountain medic and mountaineer Gregory Attard to devise the Rocs Travel Extreme Packages, which will be officially launched in the coming weeks.
Nepal, Peru, Russia, Italy, Sicily, Morocco, Ecuador, Kenya and Tanzania are just some of the exciting destinations included in the packages.
Dr Attard is a doctor specialis-ing in emergency medicine and mountain rescue.
Over the years he has successfully climbed some of the highest mountains in the world, culminating on May 17, 2010, when he placed the Maltese flag on the summit of Mount Everest together with two other Challenge 8,000 team members.
Rocs Travel director Rachel Vella said: “Dr Attard’s extensive mountaineering experience and medical background makes it possible for Rocs Travel Extreme to provide our customers with the most innovative and unforgettable adventures possible.”
The first destination on offer will be an Everest Base Camp trek followed by Island Peak climb in Nepal this month.
Every month ROCS Travel will be offering a different destination, with the final trip held in March 2013.
Dr Attard said: “For me it is a dream come true. Apart from having my medical profession at heart, mountaineering has always been my passion. It is an honour for me to join the Rocs Travel team and share such unique experiences with the Maltese.”
