AGIUS. On March 30, at Mater Dei Hospital, God blessed Daniela Carla née Agius and Charlot with the birth of their second-born daughter – KRISTINA, a most welcome sister to Federica. METSOLA. On March 2, at Clinique St Jean, Brussels, to Roberta née Tedesco Triccas and Ukko, God’s precious gift of a son – MARC MICHAEL, a most welcome brother to Luca and Alec. Deo gratias et Mariæ.
SALADINO. On March 29, at Mater Dei Hospital, to Elizabeth née Grech Hardie and Antonio, God’s precious gift of a first-born son – DAMIANO. Deo gratias et Mariæ.
SULIMAN. On March 27, at St James Capua Hospital, Sliema, to Roubina Mohammed née Dauo and Hashiem, God’s precious gift of a son – SULIMAN HASHEM, a most welcome brother to Jihad Hashem. Thanks to the obstetrician, midwife Carmen Scerri and to all the staff at the hospital.
VELLA. On March 30, at Mater Dei Hospital, to Ramona Marie née Cini and Omar, God’s precious gift of a daughter – EMMA MARIE. Deo gratias et Mariæ.
Obituary
CALÌ. On April 3, in the early morning, HERMAN DAVID, aged 61, passed peacefully away at Mater Dei Hospital. He leaves behind his beloved family and friends. His children, Maxine, Rafael and Elena; his siblings, Tanya and her husband Ueli, Cristina, Alex and Michael; his cousins, nephews, nieces, and all his many cherished friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 1 p.m. and will proceed towards Balluta Bay church, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2 p.m. Lord, grant him eternal rest. The family would like to extend their sincere, heartfelt thanks to the staff at Mater Dei’s Emergency and Cardiac ITU wards.
PACE. On April 4, at Mater Dei Hospital, WINIFRED (Winnie), aged 89, passed peacefully away, surrounded by her family and comforted by the rites of the Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her irreparable loss her brothers Mgr Anthony and Joseph, her sisters Sr Mary FMM and Sr Aurelia SDD. Also her sister-in-law Josephine, her nieces and nephews Antoinette, Anna, Joe, Paula, Mariella, Louis, David, Paul, Edward, Maryanne and David, their families, other relatives and friends, especially the members of the Focolare Movement. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 1.30 p.m. for Santa Marija church, Birkirkara, where Mass praesente cadavere will be celebrated at 2 p.m., followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata cemetery. Entrance is from the top gate. Donations to Holy Family Home, Naxxar, will be greatly appreciated. The family would like to thank the surgeons and the teams at ITU and S3. May the Lord grant her eternal rest.
FRIGGIERI. On April 7, Josephine (née Vassallo), aged 89, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of the Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her irreparable loss her daughters Nathalie and Gregorio, and Marthese and Francesco, her grandchildren Alessio, Fiona and Stephan, her great-grandsons, relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 2 p.m. for St Gregory’s parish church, Sliema, where Mass praesente cadavere will be celebrated at 2.30 p.m. followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata cemetery. Lord grant her eternal rest.

On April 6, at St James Capua hospital, Sliema, JANE, née Camilleri, known as Giovanna, of Ħamrun, passed peacefully away at the age of 97, surrounded by her loving family and comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her beloved daughter Ruth, her sister in-law Connie Degiorgio other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves St James Capua Hospital tomorrow at 2 p.m. for the MUSEUM chapel, Blata l-Bajda, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2.30 p.m. followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, would be greatly appreciated. Lord grant her eternal rest. Special Thanks to St James Capua Hospital’s Ward 3 staff, who looked after her with devotion.
ZERAFA. On April 4, at Mater Dei Hospital, CHARLIE, S/SGT, AFM, aged 74, of Gzira, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his beloved wife Mary, his in-laws Charlie and his wife Evelyn, Carmen, widower of Gejtu, and Joe and his wife Doreen, nephews and nieces Marita, Graziella, Lorraine, Neil and Charlene, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 8 a.m. for Mount Carmel parish church, Gżira, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 8.30 a.m. followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be greatly appreciated. Lord grant him eternal rest. The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at the M1 ward at Mater Dei Hospital and Hospice Malta.
In Memoriam
AMATO GAUCI – PHILIP. On the second anniversary of Philip’s birth to eternal life, his wife, Victoria, their eight children and 13 grandchildren, remember him with love while cherishing fond memories of happier days and lighter moments shared. He is also deeply missed by his two sisters, Terry Gera and Jean Soler, their families, his cousin Cecil Amato Gauci, other relatives and friends.
DE BATTISTA – JOSEPH. Loving and cherished memories of a beloved and loving husband, father and grandfather, April 10 being the eighth anniversary of his death. Still very sadly missed and fondly remembered by his beloved wife Doris and all the family. Always in our thoughts and prayers. Lord, grant him eternal rest.
