Guess recently launched its new spring/summer collection for men and women.
The collection is based on two themes – Road to California and Desert Festival.
For women, Road to California is inspired by a post-college atmosphere combined with academic details with fashion glamour.
Baby blue skinny fits and fashion flare denims are presented in a special colour cast onto light, super-stretch fabrics. Vintage accents are created by authentic treatments on indigo pieces and a lace-embroidered, white denim pant trimmed with copper rivets and a snake patch.
Outerwear also makes a strong statement this season. Classic biker, cropped, and letterman styles are reinterpreted in Guess style with grosgrain trims and lurex details.
Shirts in classic check, double layered dual-patterned fabrics, and animal print chiffon are inspired by the 1950s. Non-denim bottoms are linear but are rich in detail with internal lace finishes and silk patches on the outside.
For men, the season kicks off in an urban, 1950s-inspired mood. Washes are clean and coated fabrics are featured alongside a fresh colour card.
A large range of outerwear is presented in many different styles and fabrics; nylons, cotton nylons, light-rinse wash leathers, and light, uneven twills are matched perfectly with signature detailed non-denim bottoms.
Blazers in slub-twill and crinkled hounds tooth find their place alongside skinny and regular chino pants in comfort gabardine, satin and twill.
Chino and cargo shorts are easy-to wear and offered in yarn dyed, checked, and twill fabrics while checked, plaid and striped shirts in poplin reflect the rock-around-the-clock mood of the 1950s.
The Desert Festival theme features a lighter and fresher look with a laid-back Bohemian vibe reminiscent of the 1970s. Colours range from pastel to earth colours and sand and sun inspire dusty and faded finishes.
For women, outwear pieces include a short trench in marble wash to a crocodile-printed leather biker jacket. A suede coat and a military jacket adorned with metallic sequins complete the selection and can be paired with chic cropped military pants.
Skirts are long and flowing, washed and destroyed, and match the range of T-shirts embellished with rock festival graphics and ethnic-inspired applications.
Both long and short dresses are detailed with braided leather and metallic chains and are presented in printed, light cottons and chiffons that caress the body. For men, jackets come in fresh fabrics such as pigment-dyed micro-canvas, military cottons, destroyed denim-effect, cotton-linen mixes and cotton-linen herringbone.
Chino and shorts are also offered in these fabrics. Sweaters are stone-washed in a rich silk and modal blend and are presented in a wide range of colours, while cotton sweaters with striped print elbow patches are colour block printed on the inside and detailed with stripe-printed, elbow patches.
