Malta is the third most important source market for Catania airport over Easter.

Aeroporto Internazionale di Catania Fontanarossa said that 142 flights would transit the airport between April 4 and 9, of which 64,000 would be departures.

Monaco, with 24 flights, is the most important destination, followed by London with 20 and then Malta and Paris with 18.

It said that traffic is growing with German airports because of business travel as well as increased interest by Germans in Sicily's archaeological sites.
