La Valette and King's Own Philharmonic Societies have agreed on their participation in the Risen Christ procession in Valletta on Sunday.
The agreement, which is binding until 2014, is approved by the Church authorities.
The two bands agreed that, in the present circumstances, La Valette will play during the procession, which starts from the Jesuits Church this year. King's Own will play next year and in 2014. In the following years the bands will alternate each year if the agreement is renewed.
Until 2014, the participating band will receive a €500 fee. This will be reevaluated after 2014. If the procession is cancelled for any reason, the band scheduled to play the following year will play according to schedule.
Religious hymns or waltzes are to be played during the procession and a list of the music to be played is to be sent to the other band by not later than 15 days before Easter that year.
Should there be disagreement on any of the music to be played, the decision of the feast's procurator will be final.
