Sliema McDonald’s, Sirens Ritter Sport and Neptunes Emirates picked the points from yesterday’s matches with the Balluta Bay team maintaining their 100 per cent record.

In the first match, the Blues had it all their own way, running up the highest score so far and punishing the southerners almost at will, with chief marksmen John Soler and Michael Rizzo each netting four goals.

In the match that followed, Sirens did not quiet emulate Sliema scorewise but were equally dominant as they churned out most of the goals in the second and third sessions.

Valletta Dhalia were trying to offer some challenge at particular intervals in the game. Joe Caruana Dingli’s team made use of most of the units in his squad before going into casual mode in the last session.

The St Julian’s derby resulted in a win for the Balluta team who obtained the base for their victory in the second session and then maintained it till the closing stages, adding a brace in the last quarter.

Both goalkeepers had a fine match as did Clint Mercieca with his impressive work-rate.

The Saints offered a noteworthy challenge against superior opponents and in the end held their heads high.
