The Confucius Institute at University is offering a series of new evening courses for the public, tailor-made to the specific interests or language levels of participants. Each course consists of 12 hours, spread over eight weeks and sessions are held between 6 and 7.30 p.m.

The course fee is €100 for the public, half-price for University students, and free for University staff.

Elementary Chinese language level 1 course is suitable for beginners. No prior knowledge of the Chinese language is required.

Elementary Chinese language level 2 is suitable for people who have completed elementary Chinese 1 or have an equivalent level of proficiency.

Business Chinese is a beginner’s course aimed for professionals wanting to learn the essentials of the Chinese language for their business activities.

The Chinese Culture unit highlights different aspects of Chinese culture, with students being introduced to various topics such as art, music, handicrafts, etc. The lectures of this unit will be delivered in English.

The HSK (Chinese Proficiency Test) is the standardised test to assess the Chinese language proficiency of non-native Chinese speakers, and it is the only official Chinese language certificate accepted in China.

This year, the institute is offering the HSK test on May 19 at the University. The institute’s teaching staff can advise which level of test one should take.

The registration period is between April 16and 27.
