Marsa and Senglea were declared as joint-winners of the Freedom Day’s regatta after both clubs finished level on points at the top of the Open category after the final race at the Valletta Grand Harbour yesterday. The regatta turned out a thrilling affair with Cospicua, Senglea and Marsa all in the running for the final honour before the final race open for Dgħajjes tal-Pass b’Erba Mqadef. Here, Marsa’s quartet edged Senglea to victory to lift their team at the top of the standings with 58 points, level with the Yellow-Reds. Cospicua, who topped the standings before the final race, had to settle for third place on 56 points. In the ‘B’ Category, Senglea were the clear-cut winners after topping the standings on 68 points to finish ahead of Kalkara (32) and Vittoriosa (30).
