Juan Manuel Prieto, the new Colombian Ambassador to Malta, accompanied by his wife, visited Malta last month to present his credentials to President George Abela.

Albert Rutter, honorary consul of Colombia, took the opportunity of the visit to organise a Colombian evening at the Palace Hotel in Sliema, to which all Colombian nationals resident on the island were invited.

The Colombian evening enabl-ed the ambassador and Mrs Prieto to meet, among other guests, a number of young Colombians studying English in Malta.

The evening, which included the screening of a documentary on Colombia and a poster exhibition, was concluded with the serving of Colombian coffee – reputed to be the best in the world.
