Some 250 children, teenagers and their families gathered at the Birkirkara Alligators Rugby FC this afternoon to take part in a tournament and fun activities organised to promote rugby.

The children were from the Lija and Birkarkara primary and secondary schools, Stella Maris and St Aloysius colleges and the Rabat, Attard and Msida primary schools.

The club organised a series of lectures and fun activities over the past days to promote rugby as a sports for which sportsmanship, respect discipline and control are needed. The activities were intended to show that rugby was not just an aggressive sport, President Adrian Hillman said.

The Birkirkara Alligators Rugby FC is made up of the Male Senior Team, the Alligators Ladies Team, the Falcons Ladies Team, and the Youth Academy, for those aged from under five to under 18.
