Excessive development in St Julian’s causes concern
As a St Julian’s resident I am very concerned by the proposed over-development around Spinola Bay, in particular the application to build up to seven storeys between Villa Ferris and Saddles, and the development of land adjacent to the parish church.
As a St Julian’s resident I am very concerned by the proposed over-development around Spinola Bay, in particular the application to build up to seven storeys between Villa Ferris and Saddles, and the development of land adjacent to the parish church. The old part of St Julian’s still enjoys a tranquil and serene way of life which is our right and duty to protect, in particular Lapsi Street, which stands to take a much heavier flow of traffic with the construction of four major new developments.
Has anyone at Mepa carried out a study on how these areas will be negatively impacted and changed once these proposed developments are given the green light for a supermarket, offices, commercial outlets and apartments, not to mention the two more projects at Spinola Square and above the old Tigullio site?
We read many fine words about Mepa’s holsitic approach to planning and protection of the environment. Will the authority honour its words by commissioning these studies, or are they going to ring hollow after all?
