International Vocational College (IVC) Malta chief executive officer Michelle Gialanze and St Theresa College principal Francis Fabri recently signed a public-private partnership agreement to offer the Jamie Oliver’s Home Cooking Skills to the public in Malta.

The course, which starts this month, will be held twice weekly by two local award winning chefs at the college’s state-of-the-art kitchens in Birkirkara. It provides the ideal opportunity for anyone interested to begin learning skills in cooking simple, nutritious and affordable food. The course is Btec-certified equivalent to GCSE.

“This cooking course is so much more than a qualification: it’s a way of sharing a critical life skill with as many people as possible, said Dr Gialanze.

Dr Fabri added that making adult vocational education appealing and relevant to the community were some of the aims of this collaboration.
