The Aviation Museum at Ta' Qali will hold an open weekend this weekend, with a special reduced entrance fee of €3.
Visitors will be able to admire vintage aircraft in the museum's hangars and also hear some of the aircraft engines working. There will be re-enactors in period uniforms. Lecturers will be given by experts.
Visiting hours are between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.
Picture shows the museum's Tiger Moth trainer aircraft when it recently landed on the old runway at Ta' Qali - close to the museum - after having been kept at a hangar in Luqa for some time.
This was the first aircraft landing at the former airfield in a generation and was made possible following an arrangement reached between the Aviation Museum and the Model Aircraft Association to remove the perimeter wall bordering the latter's site at the end of the runway. As a result the 'Moth' had 460m of tarmac available - well beyond what was actually needed.
The boundary wall has been replaced by a removable structure.
