Jean Paul Mifsud’s extra virgin olive oil, recently selected by experts as one of the finest in its field, is now for sale in Malta.
Mifsud’s Barbuto was one of only 20 extra virgin olive oils selected by the prestigious Fortnum and Mason of London from hundreds of oils through a process of blind tasting.
The oil was produced from Tondo Iblea olives grown atMifsud’s centuries-old grove in Iblea, Sicily.
Mifsud recently treated a number of local groups to tastings of his product.
Mifsud handpicked the olives in October and November and had them cold-pressed mechanically on the same day to ensure thequality was fresh and to eliminate acidity.
Fortnum and Mason sources all its food from hand-picked suppliers undergoing a rigorous process.
