Nexia BT celebrates 20 years in business

Nexia BT, the professional services firm of Tower Business Centre, Swatar, celebrated 20 years in business by hosting associates and key service providers to an event at Ta’ Grabiel Gardens in Marsascala earlier this month.

Founded in 1992 in Marsascala by Brian Tonna as a sole practitioner, the firm provided accountancy services to local clients and had a staff of three.

The outfit evolved into one of Malta’s established financial services organisations with a portfolio of clients including listed and international companies.

In 2007, it became a member of Nexia International, the worldwide network of independent auditors, business advisers and consultants present in more than 100 countries.

“The event was just a small token of recognition to the people who have helped shape the company and make Nexia BT what it is today,” Nexia BT managing partner Brian Tonna said. “Back in 1992, I would never have thought the firm would grow to such an extent and offer the vast amount of professional services it does today. It is very satisfying to see everyone’s hard work pay off.”

Nexia BT boasts audit, corporate finance, tax advisory and business advisory capabilities in different markets ranging from traditional trading and holding companies to shipping, yachting, remote gaming, investment services and aviation.

It has a staff of more than 50 people, most of whom are accountants and business graduates.

Earlier this year, the company was awarded the NCPE Equality Mark Certificate in recognition of its commitment to best practices in gender equality.
