European Association of Homes and Services for the Ageing president Freek Lapre recently visited Malta in connection with the association’s fourth conference, which is due to be held in Malta in September.

The conference, entitled ‘Active ageing – a challenge for providers’, will attract speakers from different parts of Europe and will provide an insight into best practices and innovations in housing, care and services.

Mr Lapre met Joseph Troisi, director of the International Institute of Ageing, UN-Malta, and director of the European Centre of Gerontology at the University of Malta. Prof. Troisi will be one of the speakers at the conference.
