Red Electrick jetted off to the UK last weekend for a one-off gig in Brighton.

The popular local band, whose debut album Vine Lady was released in 2010, performed live at The Hope, sharing the bill with Brighton-based five-piece band International Diamond Thieves, alongside whom the Maltese band had already performed during its tour of London venues last year.

The gig was all the more special for Red Electrick as it was their 20th performance overseas in the relatively short span of 36 months, during which time they also played live in Austria, Denmark and England.

Apart from working on new material, the band is currently also working on a new project, Red Electrick – The Unplugged Sessions.

As the name suggests, the project revolves around performances of the band’s acoustic material featuring a number of session musicians, which are being filmed in an appropriately intimate setting.

More information about this will be revealed at a later date, but for current updates, visit www.myspace.com/redelectrick.
