Neptunes Emirates ran out comfortable 18-6 winners over the ASA U-18 selection in yesterday’s out-of-competition match.

Victory, as expected, was never in doubt as the boys in red built a sizeable advantage before going for numerous substitutions in the latter sessions.

Main scorers for the Balluta Bay team were Jordan Camilleri with six goals followed by Niki Lanzon with four.

• The Maltese U-23 women’s team started their EHF/IHF Challenge Trophy commitments with an upset to Israel on Thursday. The Maltese played some good handball and did well to keep abreast with their opponents until half-time (8-11). However, the more experienced Israelis soon opened a five-goal lead after the break and ended up winning 22-12.
