• The Maltese U-23 women’s team started their EHF/IHF Challenge Trophy commitments with an upset to Israel on Thursday. The Maltese played some good handball and did well to keep abreast with their opponents until half-time (8-11). However, the more experienced Israelis soon opened a five-goal lead after the break and ended up winning 22-12.
