Jonathan Balzan and Carmen Hili were the first runners home in Monday’s 10-mile race organised by St Patrick’s AC in Dingli.

This was Balzan’s seventh success as he clocked 58mins 34 secs.

Clive Gerada, Balzan’s St Patrick’s team-mate, was second in 59mins and 26secs and Johann Galea, of Pembroke, was third in 61mins and 21secs.

Hili covered the distance in a personal best of 67mins and 19secs to finish ahead of St Pat-rick’s team-mates Marisa Muscat and Roberta Schembri.

St Patrick’s also organised a walkathon on Monday.

There was also a 2.5-kilometre race for juniors, won by Deane Ellul (boys) and Nicole Attard Glivau (girls).
