The 2011 Oħloq Tbissima fundraising marathon collected €217,932 in funds.
After expenses, Ċentru Animazzjoni Missjunarja (ĊAM) has distributed the funds as follows: €34,196 to St Joseph Home in St Venera; €34,196 to the Missions in the care of priests of the Missionary Society of St Paul (MSSP) in the Philippines; €34,187 to MSSP missions in Peru; €34,196 to MSSP missions in Pakistan and €34,568.24 to evangelisation projects held locally though ĊAM.
The marathon’s aim is to gather funds to help sustain the missionary work being carried out by MSSP priests both locally and abroad and to increase missionary awareness.
Locally, the money will contribute to projects for the boys cared for at St Joseph Home in St Venera, as well as evangelisation through visual and written media.
The money distributed abroad will enable a large number of MSSP priests working in Peru, Pakistan and the Philippines to continue their missionary work.
Oħloq Tbissima 2012 will be held from July 13 to 15.
