• Living Ability Not Disability (Land) Group is holding a car wash fundraiser today near Black Pearl, Ta’ Xbiex, from 10 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. There will be food and drinks stands, as well as cakes for sale. Tomorrow (public holiday)

• A treasure hunt in aid of Faces projects in Kenya, Tanzania and Peru will take place tomorrow. Participants should meet in ta’ Qali at 10 a.m. The price is €25 per team (maximum of five people per car) and there will be prizes for the top three teams. • The women’s section of Our Lady of Lilies Musical Society, Mqabba, is organising a family fun day, to be held at Mqabba Football Club’s synthetic pitches in Triq il-Madonna tal-Gilju tomorrow. This full-day event will include bouncy castles, children’s entertainment, a sports day for Junior Club children and their friends and a five-a-side football tournament organised by Our Lady of Lilies Youth Section. There will also be an exhibition of vintage cars in collaboration with the Classic Sports Car Club Malta between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. For further information visit www.talgilju.com.

• The Little Sisters of the Poor of Ħamrun invite families, friends and benefactors for Mass celebrated by the Apostolic Nuncio Tommaso Caputo on the feast of St Joseph at St Paul chapel tomorrow at 5 p.m. Refreshments will be served after Mass.

This week

• Lenten talks in Maltese organised by the Friendship Group are being held at Sarria church, Floriana, from Tuesday till Thursday. Mass at 7 p.m. will be followed by a talk by Fr William Bartolo.

• An evening of prayer for peace and new evangelisation of the world will be held in the basement chapel of Sarria church, Floriana, on Wednesday from 5.15 to 6.15 p.m. All are invited to attend.

• The next meeting of the San Ġorg Preca prayer group will be held at the MUSEUM headquarters in Blata l-Bajda (entrance next to Preca Library) on Friday at 6.30 p.m. Young couples and mature adults are especially welcome.

• The Malta Dyslexia Association (MDA) is holding a talk by dyslexia specialist and MDA president Carmen Muscat on Friday at 6.30 p.m. at the Catholic Institute, Floriana. All are welcome to attend. The talk, entitled ‘Il-Qari bil-Malti’, will present strategies and techniques for helping children to learn to read and write in Maltese.

• The administrative committee of Our Lady of Lilies Musical Society, Mqabba, is holding a dinner for all members and supporters on Saturday at the newly reconstructed Lily Band Club permises, Church Square, Mqabba at 8 p.m. A variety of food will be served. • Moviment Era Ġdida is holding a Lenten activity entitled ‘Eżercizzi b’Differenza – Kompassjoni’ on March 26 and 30 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Project Hall, Floriana (on the right-hand side of police headquarters). • The Association of Surgeons of Malta will be hosting a meeting of the General Surgery section of the European Union of Medical Specialists (UEMS) on March 30 and 31. A gala dinner will be held in honour of the delegates from various European countries at the Phoenicia Hotel on March 31 and all surgeons and trainees are invited to attend. • Equal Partners Foundation is holding a fundraising Easter bazaar on March 30, 31 and April 1 at the foundation’s premises at 184A, Valley Road, Msida, next to the Għajn tal-Ħasselin. The foundation is collecting goods to be sold at the fair, including groceries, supplies for baking figolli, plants, jewellery, books and magazines, toys, unwanted gifts or ornaments and any other items. If the items cannot be brought to the office the foundation will arrange to collect them. • The Cappella Sanctæ Catherinæ choir will be performing a concert at St Joseph parish church, Msida, on April 2 at 6.30 p.m. The public is invited to attend. St Joseph parish church also requires girls aged between six and 13 to form a new choir. Those interesed should apply using the application form obtainable from the parish sacristy, the parish priest or by downloading a copy from Facebook .com/Parrocca-San-Guzepp-Msida.

•A card games party in aid of the Little Sisters of the Poor is being held at the Preluna Hotel, Sliema, on April 4 from 10 a.m. For bookings call Blanche Martin on 2133 0387.
