Three charities, Fondazzjoni Suret il-Bniedem, St Patrick’s Salesian School and the Moyo Challenge – an international initiative supported by Vodafone Group – will benefit from funds allocated by Vodafone Malta.

The funds were raised when the company did away with corporate gifts last Christmas and channeled the money towards philanthropic purposes instead.

Vodafone clients and stakeholders received a corporate card asking them to ‘trade off’ their yearly corporate gift to one of the charities involved.

Fondazzjoni Suret il-Bniedem will benefit from an alarm system, including fire detectors in three homes.

St Patrick’s Salesian School will embark on a project to help boys over 16 to live independently within the home.

An international project, the Moyo Challenge, helps some of the poorest women in the Tanzania to access medical treatment for obstetric fistula.

Vodafone is committed to raising €7 million by June to help expand existing facilities and build a new maternity hospital in Dar Es Salaam.
