The Malta Music Memory Project (M3P) will be staging its second symposium at the University of Hull’s School of Arts and New Media, in the British seaside town of Scarborough on Saturday.

The symposium will take place in conjunction with a full-day colloquium on ‘Interdisciplinary approaches to documenting performance’ from the UK’s Theatre and Performance Research Association (TaPRA) and will feature key speakers from a number of British universities and organisations with vast experience related to the subject.

Toni Sant, Tony Grimaud and Darren Stephens will also be conducting a session focusing on the research activities of the M3P itself.

The event is being presented in collaboration with the University of Hull’s Interdisciplinary and Collaborative Practices cluster.

M3P’s first symposium was held as part of the programme related to the official inauguration of the project in September 2010, which also involved a networking workshop and live performances from a variety of Maltese bands.

The Malta Music Memory Project is a collaborative database of Maltese music and associated arts and encourages the participation and contribution of all stakeholders in order to achieve its goal of compiling an online archive of Malta’s artistic heritage.
