British animations are a big hit in the royal household, according to the Duchess of Cornwall, who revealed she was a fan of Shaun the Sheep while her husband’s “favourite people in the world” are Wallace and Gromit.

At a reception at Clarence House, the Duchess told children: “I love Shaun the Sheep. He’s really funny.”

She added: “My husband Prince Charles − Wallace and Gromit are his favourite people in the world.

We always sit and watch them − it’s one of his favourite films.”

Children’s TV character Shaun the Sheep and Wallace and Gromit, who appeared on TV and starred in The Curse Of The Were-Rabbit among other films, are all the creations of the Bristol-based animator Nick Park at Aardman Studios.
