Vince Farrugia's daughter says she was not notified to appear in court

Marie Klaire Farrugia, daughter of GRTU director general Vince Farrugia, said today she had not been notified to testify in the case where her father was a victim of an attack.

Mr Farrugia was allegedly attacked by former GRTU member Sandro Chetcuti who stands charged with trying to kill the director general.

In a statement, Ms Farrugia reacted to remarks by defence lawyer Emanuel Mallia during the proceedings, who said that he could not understand why she did not turn up when she was the daughter of the alleged victim.

Ms Farrugia said that she was never summoned by the courts, police or the Maltese media to make a statement about her involvement in the case.
