Opposition leader Joseph Muscat met the socialist French Presidential candidate Francois Hollande in Paris.

Mr Hollande spoke about the need for a social democratic vision which expanded the economy and increased employment throughout the European Union.

Dr Muscat expressed his best wishes to Mr Hollande for the elections.

In Paris, Dr Muscat also met the head of the Presidential campaign Pierre Moscovici, who served as a Foreign Minister during the Lionel Jospin government.

Dr Muscat and Mr Moscovici also worked together as MEPs in 2004.

During their meetings, they discussed the European fiscal pact and the changes Mr Hollande wished to implement in favour of economic growth and wealth creation.
