More than 1,000 children are attending the government’s six Klabb 3-16 centres after school that are aimed to encourage more women to work.

Family Minister Chris Said and Education Minister Dolores Cristina yesterday visited the Mosta centre and commented on the success of the centres. They are open for children between the ages of three and 16 – who attend state, Church or private schools – after school hours, until 6 p.m. The service is also offered in summer.

The other centres are located in Fgura, Birkirkara, Żurrieq, St Paul’s Bay and Marsascala.
