Gozitan waterpolo club Otters are looking to consolidate the levels reached these past few years in the national league and their efforts were boosted recently when it was announced that VJ Salomone will renew their sponsorship to the team through their product Nivea.
Otters have been showing steady progress in their performances when competing in the ASA Division Two championship and gone are the days when the side was regarded as an easy pushover.
The committee steadily strengthened the squad through the acquired services of established veterans who blend with an exciting group of young Gozitan players that made the grade through the Otters’ junior squads.
This policy has now led the club to sign former Neptunes and Malta goalkeeper Adrian Cachia and John Paris, who also played for the national team besides top clubs Neptunes, Sliema and Exiles.
These valid additions should give Otters an extra push upwards, while guaranteeing the invaluable knowledge that can be imparted to the younger players.
Otters, who are not taking part in the Winter League, also confirmed the experienced Alfred Cachia as head coach for the coming summer season.
The coach and the two new signings were presented to the sponsors during a meeting at the VJ Salomone offices where the sponsorship signing took place.
