St Patrick’s retain Nestlé support in landmark year
Dingli 10 race to be held on March 19
The 2012 Nestlé Fitness Dingli 10 run will hit the road on March 19, marking the 50th anniversary of St Patrick’s Athletic Club, the organisers of this annual race.
Around 150 runners are expected to take part. Besides the main race, a series of other activities will be held on the sidelines to promote the event, including the walkathon which will start at 8.30 a.m. and a junior race for the Under-17.
The good organisation and picturesque route around the Dingli countryside make this race very popular.
The 10-mile race will start at 9 a.m. from the Dingli square. After an initial one-mile flat loop, runners will make their way towards the Nigret area in Rabat and cross to Fiddien valley where the short and steep hill starts. This will be followed by a downhill stretch towards the Dingli Cliffs before ending at Dingli square.
Details about the Dingli 10 were given by Stephen Spiteri, president of St Patrick’s AC and race director, during a press conference at Nestlé Malta premises.
Naum Janakiev, Country Business Manager Nestlé Malta was delighted to announce that Nestlé Fitness have agreed to renew their sponsorship of the Dingli 10 race.
“Nestlé Fitness’s sponsorship deal with St Patrick’s AC forms part of the company’s commitment to promoting sporting activity as part of a healthy lifestyle,” Janakiev said.
