Registered voters who have not yet obtained their voting document for Saturday’s local elections can do so from the Electoral Commission’s office in Valletta by tomorrow.

They can be picked up from the commission’s office at Evans Building in Valletta or the ID cards office in Victoria for Gozitan voters.

The office hours tomorrow will be 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. to midnight. Voters must call in person and present their identity card.

Sick people who are unable to leave their car will be handed the document by a commission official.

The Electoral Commission also said that on voting day, only relatives holding a permit issued by the commission can accompany residents of homes for the elderly.

Those in illegal possession of voting documents would be committing a crime.

Although residents should not be pressurised, administrators must make sure there is free access for residents casting their vote and for authorised people accompanying them to the polling places, the commission said.
