Like most other readers I am of course aware of the true identity of The Times’ regular Saturday contributor I.M.Beck and of the fact that he lives in Lija.
Although I must admit to hardly every sharing I.M.Beck’s diatribes I have to agree that he is spot on when he states that the Lija local council has not managed to improve “our lot” by just one iota.
As one of the two PL representatives on the Lija council, even at the
risk of sounding rather ungrateful for the herculean tasks the council secretariat is ever ready to tackle, I hasten to put on record that it took over six months to have a few doggy bins installed in the village, while it required some eight months to have a search light (instead of proper lighting) placed above the zebra crossing in Transfiguration Avenue.
But then readers of The Times might wish to note that the Lija local council is dominated and run by I.M.Beck’s bedfellows from GonziPN… and with friends like these…
Notwithstanding this, I invite I.M.Beck to join the movement for change which we are striving to create so that come next council elections we may give this village the energetic and customer-friendly council it truly deserves.
