Hibs put up a devastating attacking as they crushed Mqabba to the tune of six goals to one at the Hibs stadium this afternoon.

The Paolites took the lead on 17 minutes Andrew Cohen released Dias who beat the offside trap and cooly lobbed the ball over the onrushing Franklin Azzopardi.

Mqabba soon responded and on 21 minutes they drew level. From a Claudio Calleja corner-kick, Bojan Mamic anticipated his marker to beat Muscat at the near post.

Hibs managed to regain the lead on the half hour in fortuituous circumstances as from a Failla corner kick Pierre Grima inadvertently headed the ball into his own net.

On 37 minutes Luis Edison burst past two opponents before setting up Herrera who headed the ball past Azzopardi.

On the stroke of half-time the Dias made burst into the area before serving Edison who was upended in the area by Branislave Timotic with the referee immediately pointing to the spot. Edison picked himself up to drill the resultant penalty past Azzopardi.

Dias continued to hurt Mqabba and a minute into stoppage time he ran excellently to meet Edison's pass before rifling the ball past Azzopardi.

The goals kept coming on the restart as on 48 minutes, from a Cohen free-kick, Edison nodded the ball into the path of Herrera who stabbed the ball home from close in.

Hibs striker Marcelo Dias was voted as the BOV Player of the match.
