Fifth form students at St Martin’s College have taken Macbeth to another level by transporting the historic play into a futuristic setting for the short film they produce every year.

About 24 hours of shooting meant the 110 students involved in the project acquired a tangible feel for the drama by taking it to the big screen. Fort Ricasoli, in Kalkara, was transformed into a futuristic set for the Shakespearian masterpiece. The creative script and screenplay were put together within a programme themed Active Citizenship And Cultural Studies. The picture by Darrin Zammit Lupi shows photography director David Serge on camera directing Bettina Chircop playing Lady Macbeth.
