Obituary

ATTARD. On February 25 at Mater Dei Hospital, LAWRENCE, aged 63, of Birkirkara, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his great loss his wife Mary, his daughter Sylvana and her husband Michael Attard, his grandchildren Yanika and the twins Garreth and John Paul, his brothers and sisters, in-laws, and their families, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital at 2 p.m. today for the sanctuary of St Theresa of Birkirkara, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2.30 p.m. followed by interment at the Lija cemetery. Donations to Hospice Malta at Balzan and Puttinu Cares will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

CAMILLERI. On February 26, at Casa Antonia Residence, Balzan, VIENNA, widow of Oscar, of Valletta and residing in Sliema, aged 91, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her sons Austin and his wife Mona, Joseph and Cecil and his wife Joanna, grandchildren Gordon, Clyde, Alexia, Graziella, Sarah and Kurt, their respective spouses, great-grandchildren, her sisters, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Casa Antonia Residence, Balzan, tomorrow at 2 p.m. for Balzan parish church, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2.30 p.m. followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

GALEA. On February 26, at Mater Dei Hospital, SAVERIN, of Rabat, aged 75, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband Leli, her son Joseph and his wife Marthese, her grandson Shaun and his fiancée Noelle, her sister Rose, her sisters-in-law Mary (widow of her brother Joseph) and Jane (widow of her brother Francis), her other in-laws Paul, Mary, Alfred and his wife Mary, her nephews and nieces Marie, Patricia, Robert, George, Michelle, Charles, Marisa, Joannie and Jesmond, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 3.30 p.m. for Ta’ Ġieżu church in Rabat where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 4 p.m. followed by interment at Santa Margherita Cemetery, Rabat. No flowers by request but donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza would be appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

VELLA. On February 20, at her residence in Victoria, Gozo, DORIS, aged 58, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her mother Vincenza, her brother Mario and his wife Maria, her nephew David, her niece Ruth, relatives, friends and her students she loved so much. The funeral is to take place tomorrow, leaving Gozo General Hospital at 4.30 p.m. for St Francis Square and then proceeding to St George’s Basilica where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 5 p.m. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

VELLA. On February 25, at Karin Grech Rehabilitation Hospital, ANTIDA, née Bray, of St Paul’s Bay and residing at Birkirkara, passed away peacefully at the age of 72, surrounded by her loving family and comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her beloved husband Anthony, her children Reuben Vella Bray and his wife Christine, Sonia and her husband Mario Micallef, her grandchildren Macky and his fiancée Nicole Borg, Karl Andrew and Roberta, her sisters Antoinette, widow of Joe Farrugia and Evelyn and her husband Benito Marino, Caesar Scerri, widower of her sister Lina, her sister-in-law Mary Diacono, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Karin Grech Rehabilitation Hospital tomorrow at 8 a.m. for Our Saviour parish church, Lija, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 8.30 a.m., followed by interment at Lija cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, would be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

BORG – PETER. In memory of a dear brother on the first anniversary of his death. Always in our thoughts and prayers, never forgotten by us. His sister Jane Testaferrata Moroni Viani, and his brother Tony and their respective families. Today’s and tomorrow’s 8.30 a.m. Masses at St John of the Cross parish church, Ta’ Xbiex, will be offered for the repose of his soul. May the Lord grant him eternal rest. Football tournament

The youth section of Our Lady of Lillies Musical Society of Mqabba will be holding a five-a-side football tournament on March 19 from 8.30 a.m. at the synthetic pitch adjacent the Mqabba Football Club in Our Lady of the Lillies Street. The winning team will receive €400. All matches will be supervised by a qualified independent referee.
