Potholes in more than 60 roads across 38 localities will be filled up in “temporary wide-ranging repair works” carried out by Transport Malta.
The transport watchdog said it would carry out works on roads that sustained “extensive damage” following the heavy rain.
Permanent extensive patching works would follow in due course, it said.
The issue of potholes is always a controversial one as can be seen from the 400 or so comments sent in less than 48 hours to timesofmalta.com after readers were invited to send in the locations of the worst potholes.
Transport Malta said various “permanent jobs were actually originally scheduled for the first weeks of this year as part of an extensive patching programme but the order to start works could not be issued due to the bad weather”.
The works will be carried out in various localities including Attard, Balzan, Swieqi, Burmarrad, St Paul’s Bay, Marsa, Vittoriosa, Paola and Żejtun.
