The overall winner of the Gamezing 2011 competition is Super Pibbit, a video game developed by the Minjaware team from St Martin’s Institute of Information Technology. The Minjaware team was led by Leon Cassar, with team members Andrew Brincat, Mark Borg, Blair Avellino and Jonathan Aquilina.

Second prize went to another team from St Martin’s, while the third prize was won by a team from the University of Malta.

More than 50 students from various educational institutions participated in Gamezing 2011, submitting a total of 13 games.

Gamezing was organised by a multi-disciplinary team from the University of Malta with the support of the Ministry of Finance, Economy and Investment, Malta Enterprise, the Malta Council of Science and Technology and St Martin’s Institute of Information Technology.

This year’s judging panel included Georgios ­Yannakakis, IT professor at the University of ­Copenhagen, Vince Briffa, head of Department of Digital Art at the University of Malta, and Christos Iosifidis, game designer at Digital Chocolate, ­Finland.
