The Institute of Health and Safety, a leading provider of health and safety training and consultancy services, is currently running certificate-level courses in health and safety, and in environmental management in conjunction with NEBOSH, the National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health based in the UK.
The IHS is about to add a new qualification to its portfolio, namely the International Technical Certificate in Oil and Gas Operational Safety. IHS will become one of only a few companies in Europe to gain accreditation to run this course.
The new course will be run in tandem with the already successful International General Certificate course which will be held next in early February.
The new qualification is designed specifically for those with safety responsibilities in the oil and gas industry, and focuses on international standards and management systems, enabling students to effectively discharge workplace safety responsibilities both onshore and offshore.
The certificate also highlights the importance of process safety management in the oil and gas industry, and covers safety and environmental management, including hydrocarbon process safety, fire protection, and emergency response.
The course is designed for those who have the responsibility for ensuring safety as part of their day-to-day duties, including managers, supervisors, employee representatives, and newly-appointed health and safety advisers.
It will also be a great help to anyone looking for employment in the oil and gas sector.
