The CD is a recording of a concert entitled Liturgical works for StJohn’s organised for APS Bank’s10th anniversary concert at StJohn’s Co-Cathedral, Valletta onDecember 2.
Isouard’s liturgical works were written specifically for St John’s Conventual Church and were thought to be lost forever until they were re-discovered by Joseph Vella Bondin and Mgr John Azzopardi in a Paris library in 1990.
After extensive editing by the prominent Australian conductor and musicologist Fra Richard Divall, the works were ready to be performed once again. Fra Divall was also commissioned to direct the concert.
Isouard’s music was recorded on CD by an international recording label – Gega New.
