Adie’s last single Reaction lived up to its name in making waves for the Maltese artist on many levels. Apart from the song’s music video topping the Best Music Video category in Toni Sant’s 2011 MMI Listeners’ Polls, it was also picked up in the US, leading to an interview in a special edition of the popular Conversations music magazine.
The video for Reaction was also broadcast by an American music TV station, attracting further interest in Adie’s work by other music blogs and online entertainment magazines.
Adie is taking her career another step forward by launching a new single later this week.
Cry For You is a ballad with a pronounced R’n’B feel that fully captures Adie’s vocal timbre and versatility. The song has also been remixed by DJ Toby, with the remix and a club mix both included alongside the original version on the CD single.
It was penned by popular foreign songwriters Cindy Ryan and Craig Hardy, both signed to Sony ATV Music Publishing. Ryan is a three-time ARIA nominee and has an ongoing contract with long-running Australian TV series Neighbours. Hardy is an established producer in the UK and has written hit tunes for the likes of Blue, McFly and Liberty X.
A music video has also been produced for the new single. “The filming was a completely overwhelming and positive experience,” said Adie. “In my first music video, I was the main focus but this time, every scene was filmed in specially selected indoor and outdoor locations.”
She added that public support has been very motivating, referring to the feedback she receives via Facebook, Youtube and her guestbook. “What the public thinks of my music means a lot to me; after all, they decide which music is worth listening to or not. I’d like to thank Freetime Productions Universal (USA) for their part in making another dream of mine come true.”
Cry For You will be launched at Browns, Valletta Waterfront, on Wednesday. The single can be purchased online from March 1 from CDbaby.com, iTunes, Spotify and other digital music stores.
