An 85-year-old man from Ħamrun was grievously injured when he was hit by a car on a zebra crossing in his hometown yesterday.

The man was crossing Schembri Road when he was run over by a Toyota Hilux driven by a 38-year old from Msida. He is in intensive care at Mater Dei Hospital.
