More woes for keeper Bartolo

Manuel Bartolo is set for a longer spell on the sidelines after being handed a further two-match ban yesterday.

The Floriana keeper appeared in front of the MFA Disciplinary Board after being cited for unsporting behaviour during his team’s 2-1 defeat to Mosta earlier this month.

The incident went unspotted by the referee and his assistants but was included in the report submitted by the match inspector after the game.

Bartolo still has one match to serve of another two-match ban he had incurred for a red card in the match against Balzan on February 11.

The former Birkirkara goalkeeper missed last Saturday’s goalless draw against Hibernians but following this latest ruling he will be out for the next three league matches.
