Government is subject to the law too!
The government has started works on a civic centre in Triq il-Keffa, Swieqi without the necessary permits from the Malta Environment and Planning Authority and without having paid all expropriated owners the sums due.
To add insult to injury, the Swieqi council was summoned to court to answer for the above infractions, which were committed by the ministry.
It is about time that the government leads by example and does not act illegally itself.

Mintoff used to think that he's above the law. Now I'm sorry to say, we have Gonzi and his ministers who are doing this albeit very subtly, indeed!

Apart from that, the thing butt ugly, a concoction of concrete. I don't think they asked anybody for their input, like the residents or businesses around it (mine is opposite).

Can't wait to see the hell Mepa will raise on this matter.
