A six-feature film series entitled Sei Passi Nel Giallo, shot entirely on location in the Maltese islands, is being aired as from tonight on Canale 5.

The series was produced by Italian company Leader Films, following assistance by the Malta Tourism Authority between 2010 and 2011.

The Italian production firm, in association with Mediaset and Dolphin Entertainment, entered into a distribution agreement with Sony Pictures Studios to co-produce the series, consisting of six thrillers of 100 minutes duration each.

Besides being filmed in Malta, the episodes’ scripts are also Malta-based, thus ensuring that the country will get a vast exposure in all six films; a factor which is given the utmost priority by the MTA when considering assistance for similar projects.

The films feature both exterior locations as well as the interiors of a number of local prestigious houses and buildings.

The Sei Passi Nel Giallo series, directed by popular Italian director Lamberto Bava and his son Roy, features a cast of prominent Italian and international actors and actresses.

They include Kevin Sorbo, Andrea Osvart, Rob Estes, Clayton Norcross, Jane Alexander, Daniele Pecci, Paolo Seganti among others, as well as a host of Maltese actors, including Edward Mercieca, Paul Portelli, Ninette Micallef and Isabelle Warrington.

The first episode, titled Presagi, will be broadcast at about 9.15 p.m.
