Five people were arraigned on drug charges this morning – three pleaded not guilty and two admitted to the charges.

Pleading not guilty were Gozitan men Joseph Spiteri, 21, of Marsalforn and David Grech, 23, and Stephen Paul Portelli, 27, who both live in Nadur.

Mr Grech, who was placed under a two-year probation order, was charged with being in possession of cocaine and mephedrone and being a relapser.

Mr Spiteri and Mr Portelli were charged with with trafficking and being in possession of cocaine and mephedrone and relapsing.

Mr Spiteri, who was granted bail, was also charged with being in possession of cannabis. Mr Portelli was remanded in custody.

French nationals Justine Genver, 23, and Juliette Alice Simone Perin, 25, who both live in St Julian's, were conditionally discharged after they pleaded guilty to being in possession of cocaine.
